Will I need to wear a uniform?

Yes, our Group Leaders wear uniform so that they are recognisable to the Campers. We provide 2 T-Shirts, a windproof jacket and a baseball cap. We ask that you provide your own black or navy blue trousers or shorts.

How much will I get paid?

Group Leaders are paid National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age. This is currently £4.83 per hour for those aged 18-21years and £5.80 per hour for those aged 22 years and above.

When will I get paid?

Group Leaders are paid on a monthly basis, on the last working day of each month.

Do you provide accommodation?

Yes, we provide basic accommodation. There will be a small deduction (currently £31.57 per week) from your monthly pay for this provision.

What do I do about food?

We provide a subsidised food scheme that you are able to opt into. The cost of this is currently £29.75 per week. If you choose this option you will be provided with three meals a day, when you’re working and on your days off.

How many hours will I be working?

Group Leaders are contracted to work 40 hours per week. This will involve some night and weekend working. Group Leaders work on a rota basis and will be advised of their rota when they are at camp.

Will I receive training?

Yes, the first week of your employment, will be a paid induction/training course. You’ll be equipped with all the skills and knowledge required to succeed as a Group Leader.

Will I be able to stay on and work for you at the end of the summer?

For those that excel at Group Leaders over the summer, we may be able to offer you a position on the Kingswood Apprenticeship Scheme. This is an Apprenticeship in Sport and Recreation, working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership. In order to do this, you must meet the eligibility criteria set by the Learning Skills Council.
