How do we handle on site security?Whilst life at Camp is very much aimed at having fun, supervision, security and safety are also an integral part of our 24-hour daily operation. We ask all our guests to be mindful of our procedures. Camp Beaumont runs comprehensive site-specific risk assessments, all centres have patrols operating throughout the night and depending on our assessment additional measures may include barriers, CCTV and security lighting.
Night time securityA key part of our Group Leaders' role is to get all our guests to go to bed - sometimes easier said than done! Just before ‘lights out’ has been called, our Group Leaders are assisted by our Duty Managers. They reassure the anxious, encourage the high-spirited to settle down and continue their vigil until all is quiet. At this time our Group Leaders will turn in for the night and their rooms are all adjacent to our guest dorms. Our night duty rota ensures that a member of staff can be contacted at any time throughout the night. Centre doors are locked, although these can be opened from the inside in case of emergency. Should a guest wilfully attempt to leave their accommodation block after lights out and thereby risk their own safety and others' they will be sent home. SupervisionA Leader accompanies all groups throughout the day and is trained to be responsible for individuals’ pastoral care. At night Group Leaders sleep in rooms adjacent to children’s dormitories. All children must remain on centre unless accompanied by a member of Camp Beaumont staff. Guests are supervised at all times. Although on holidays which involve excursions to places such as local towns, attractions or theme parks and where it is impractical to move around in a large group, staff maintain a continual presence with regular rendezvous and are always contactable. |
