Why should I apply to Camp Beaumont?
Camp Beaumont have 29 years of experience providing day camps for the London area and we are proud to have the best staff at all of our Easter and Summer camps. It is a rewarding job that you will benefit from as much as you put in. Camp staff are made up of students, teachers, and those in the child care industry who want an exciting and rewarding outdoor job, with great opportunities and a fantastic social life.

Will I be able to have accommodation during Camp?
We only have limited accommodation for members of Senior Management. If you do not have a place of residence near to the camp during the Camp season then unfortunately we will not be able to offer you a job.

I cannot work for the entire Easter or Summer Camp period, should I still apply?
During the Easter and Summer Camp season some weeks are busier than others so we will need more staff.. As long as you specify which weeks you can work on the application form and that you can work for at least one week at Easter and two weeks at Summer, we will certainly consider your application.

 
 
 
 

Will I be expected to lead sessions on my own?
Yes. All members of staff (excluding Assistant Group Leaders, Assistant Nursery Leaders, and Vocational Experience staff) will be expected to lead sessions on their own. During your Training Afternoon and Camp Orientation you will be taught how to organise and run a successful session and there are loads of activity ideas in the Activity Manual which you will be sent prior to camp. There are lots of resources online where you can find interesting and exciting activity ideas.

I'm not sure exactly what job to apply for, how will I know I am applying for the right one?
We suggest you apply for the job you feel you would be most suited for, however after processing your application we may suggest a different position that we feel would be more suitable for your qualifications and experience. We can also discuss this at your interview.

Do you carry out background checks?
Yes. All our staff will undergo the Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure. In order to carry out these checks you will be asked to provide original identification and previous addresses. For more information on filling in your CRB form click here. You must also provide two references; these can include teachers, employers, coaches etc. but should not be a family member or friend.

Will I be provided with uniform?
Yes you will be provided with two Camp Beaumont t-shirts and a hoody that you will need to give a small deposit for. During camp you should wear dark trousers or shorts (no denim) and trainers that are suitable for outdoor activities.

 
 
 
 

Will I be provided with training before Camp begins?
We run compulsory Intensive Training Afternoons throughout January to June at locations in North or South London and then a compulsory Camp Orientation at your camp the two days prior to the beginning of Camp.

We run a compulsory Intensive Training Afternoon in February for Easter Camps and in May for Summer Camps, at locations in North London or South London and then a compulsory Camp Orientation at your camp the two days prior to the beginning of Camp.

What does working at London Sleepaway involve?
You will be expected to get involved in the many exciting evening activities and to look after the welfare of all the children, from the 8 year old First Time Sleepers to the older, more experienced Super Campers. You will have dinner that evening, and breakfast and lunch the next day provided for you and will be remunerated for each night you work. Some staff will be expected to work on weekends to welcome and say good bye to our Sleepaway campers. For more information click here
