Vocational Work Experience

Are you considering a career in childcare? Would you like to gain some experience with the leading Children’s Multi-Activity Camp Company in London and the Home Counties? Applicants who are 16 years old and seeking unpaid vocational experience at our February, Easter, Summer or October camps should apply online.

Applicants should be interested in gaining experience in childcare, have a passion for working with children and be available for a minimum of a week.

Assistant Group Leaders

•Would you like an exciting job in an outdoor environment?

•Are you caring, a team player, enthusiastic, and fun?

Assistant Group Leaders work alongside Group Leaders to instruct games and activities and assist Activity Instructors with specialist activities throughout the day.

It is preferred, but not essential, that Assistant Group Leaders hold a childcare qualification e.g. child development GCSE, health and social care, first aid, activity instruction awards, or have some experience of working within a childcare environment. Full training is provided.

Salary: £138.00 per week

Assistant Nursery Leader

•Would you like an excellent addition to your childcare portfolio or CV?

Assistant Nursery Leaders work alongside Nursery Leaders to instruct games and activities while monitoring the welfare of all the children aged 3 and 4 at camp.

It is preferred, that Assistant Nursery Leaders hold a childcare qualification e.g. child development GCSE, health and social care, first aid, activity instruction awards, or have some experience of working within a childcare environment, especially with children under 5. Full training however, is provided.

Salary: £138.00 per week

Nursery Leaders

You will be working in a small team with the responsibility for the three and four year old campers. You will need great communication skills and be able to lead structured activities allowing incidental learning to take place, whilst continually being aware of the welfare of all the children.

Salary: £186.75 per week

Group Leaders

•Do you have leadership experience with young people or a passion for instructing sports, music, drama, arts and crafts or sports activities? ?

Group Leaders have the responsibility for the welfare of a particular age group of children both during and outside activity times. Initiating and instructing games and activities play a large part in a Group Leader's day, along with equipment preparation and ensuring the welfare needs of all children are met.

It is preferred but not essential, as full training is provided, that Group Leaders hold a childcare qualification e.g. child development GCSE, health and social care, first aid, activity instruction awards, or have some experience of working within a childcare environment.

Salary: £186.75 per week

Activity Instructor

•Are you 18 to 21 years old?

•Do you have a passion to work with children?

•Do you have an excellent work ethic?

•Do you have experience in leading sessions in creative arts, sports, or archery and motor sports?

•Are you enthusiastic, energetic, with a fun personality?

•Can you differentiate running sessions for children from 5 years to 15 years old?

•Are you a sports or arts student, or interested in a career in the activity industry?

Activity Instructors are required to lead specialist sessions for 3-7 sessions per day, where you will be expected to deliver well planned and structured activities. The rest of the time you will be assisting Group Leaders and helping with camp operational duties. You will be responsible for directing and supporting Group Leaders within your specialist activities, as well as the daily preparation and maintenance of any equipment you will be using.

Activity Instructors: £186.75 per week

1. Multi Activity Instructor

You will deliver the soccer and tennis as part of our Specialist Holiday Programme and you must meet the following criteria:

•Tennis – LTA coaching qualification and/or personal proficiency and supervisory experience.

•Football – FA Teachers qualification and/or personal proficiency and supervisory experience.

•Swimming - ASA Swimming Teacher and/or personal Proficiency (you may be utilised for swimming lessons)

2. Creative Arts Instructor

You will deliver the Star maker and Creativity Workshop sessions as part of our Specialist Holiday Programme and you must meet the following criteria:

•Performing Arts - You must have qualifications and/or experience in organising a wide range of drama, dance, music, and theatre and film based activities.

•Arts and Crafts - You must have qualifications and/or experience in organising a wide range of arts and craft based activities.

•You may be asked to run sessions for all campers in the art room when specialist sessions aren't taking place.

3. Motor & Target Instructor

You will deliver the Quad bike and Archery sessions throughout the day to all age groups. GNAS and/or EASI qualifications are preferred but not essential as full training is given.

You must be responsible and conscientious, as you will be instructing the most hazardous activity we provide. It is essential you are fully aware of all health and safety rules and are always aware of potential risks. Safety of Equipment for these activities is of paramount importance.

4. Pool Lifeguard

You will hold sole responsibility for the day-to-day running of the pool and must ensure all rules and safety precautions are adhered to during and outside of sessions. You will also be expected to teach our Learn to Swim session as part of our Specialist Holiday Programme and must meet the following criteria:

•Current NPLQ or RLSS Pool Lifeguard qualification.

•Current ASA of have experience in organising structured swimming sessions

Life Guards: £210 per week (hours: 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday)

Head Nursery Leader

•Are you 18 - 20 years old?

•Have at least 1 year's camp experience? (preferred but not essential)

•Do you have fantastic organisation and communication skills?

•Do you have experience in Customer care; enabling you to efficiently deal with parental queries.

•Are you caring, enthusiastic and fun with a great sense of initiative?

•Proven leadership skills or courses are desirable but not essential.

•Would you like a unique job working with sociable people in an outdoor environment?

•Do you hold a childcare qualification e.g CACHE, NNEB, NCFE, NVQ, NNOCN, C&G or have basic experience of working within a childcare environment.

Head Nursery Leaders will have the responsibility for children aged 3-4 years of age. Signing them in and out of camp each morning and evening and like a Nursery Leader you will care for the welfare of all children in that group and initiate activities, games, and non-specialist activities.

You will play the key role in liaising between Camp Management, Parents and Nursery Leaders and will be involved with administration support and the communication of day to day issues.

Salary: £211.65 per week

Head Group Leader

•Are you 18-20 years old?

•Have at least one year’s camp experience? (preferred but not essential)?

•Do you have fantastic organisational and communication skills?

•Do you have experience in customer care, enabling you to efficiently deal with parental queries?

•Are you a team player, caring, enthusiastic, and fun, with a great sense of initiative?

•Would you like a unique job working with sociable people in an outdoor environment?

You will have responsibility for a specific age group, organising sign in when they arrive and sign out when they leave. Like a Group Leader you will care for the welfare of all the children in that group and initiate and instruct activities and games.

You will play the key role in liaising between Camp Management, parents, and Group Leaders. This role involves administration support and the communication of day-to-day issues.

Salary: £211.65 per week

Senior Nursery Leader

•Are you over 18 years old?

•Do you hold a level 3 qualification in childcare e.g. CACHE, NNEB, BTEC, Montessori or equivalent with at least 2 years childcare experience?

•Do you want to gain great experience in nursery nursing and primary teaching and have a valuable addition to your CV?

•Are you enthusiastic, caring, and conscientious, with good man management skills?

As a Senior Nursery Leader, you will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating and implementing all aspects of the day camp programme for 3 to 4 year olds. You will lead a small team of staff, allocating, activities, duties and supervision rotas.

You must have experience in customer care enabling you to efficiently deal with parental concerns. You are also required to have knowledge of Ofsted standards, including the provisions set out in the Children's Act.

Salary: £225 - £280 per week

Senior Group Leader

•Are you over 20 years old with camp experience?

•Do you have at least two years of camp experience?

•Do you have good man management and organisational skills?

•Are you extremely enthusiastic and able to boost morale?

As senior group leader you are part of the management team and will be responsible for the efficient running of the specialist holiday programme. You will also co-ordinate and support all head group leaders and be the link between Senior Camp Management and the staff team. You will be a great motivator and keep staff morale high at camp.

You will also be required to take on some additional administrative roles and you must have exceptional organisation communication and people skills. Camp experience is preferred, but not essential.

Salary: £225 - £280

Camp Director & Assistant Camp Director

The Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director are employed to take overall responsibility for the camp. You will be the people that everyone at camp looks to for motivation, support, and direction, therefore you must show knowledge and experience in the product, programming, customer care, diplomacy, financial care and health and safety.

During camp, the Management Team will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

Programming

•Creating and staffing a programme that offers all guests ample opportunity to experience the full range of activities offered in the Camp Beaumont brochure.

•Monitoring of staffing hours, duty roles, activity site safety and general provision of visiting children’s needs

•Liaison with other camp departments to ensure that the site as a whole runs smoothly.

•Devising and establishing new activities, including risk assessments and quality control.

Customer Services

•Co-ordination and distribution of lists and information relating to all aspects of guests’ holidays including computerised lists and medical information forms

•Liaison with Head Office in respect of guest information and on-site booking and alterations

•Planning and amending children’s activity groups to ensure that children are placed in the best possible environment for them to get maximum enjoyment from their holiday.

•Ensuring adequate cover of vital services is provided (ie. First Aid, phone cover) and filling in where necessary.

•Ensuring that the atmosphere at the camp is always upbeat and reflects the fun nature of the summer camp experience.

Health and Safety

•Ensuring First Aid is adequately delivered (training is provided).

•Ensuring all Health and Safety measures are covered and up to date.

•Ensuring all visitors, staff, and children are safe at all times.

Transport (selected camps)

•Co-ordinating all transport to and from camp

•Briefing all camp staff regarding their transport duties

•Ensuring strict safety and security guidelines are met for all campers leaving site.

•Ensuring all parents are informed of pick-up points and times

•Liaising with the appropriate coach companies to ensure transport efficiency.

General

•Organisation of a staff entertainment programme that adequately covers all members of Camp Beaumont staff and ensures a consistently high staff morale on site

•Knowledge of Ofsted recommendations and requirements, including the provision set out in the Children Act

Salary: Camp Director £300 - £500 per week plus a performance bonus (Inc accommodation where applicable)

Assistant Camp Director £225 - £280 per week (Inc accommodation where applicable)

Kiddy Karts Co-ordinator

•Minimum age of 21 years

•Very Confident Driver

•Organised

•Have a passion to work with Children

As the Kiddy Karts driver your responsibilities will be to drive to our camps delivering sessions to groups of children. All camps are situated around the M25 so experience of driving in and around London would be a strong advantage. You will work strictly to a structured timetable and liaise with the Operations Manager and the Camp Directors of each camp. Part of your role will also include other operational duties.

Salary: £200-300 per week

Climbing Wall Co-ordinator

As the Climbing wall driver your responsibilities will be to tow a 30 ft climbing wall to each of our camps delivering climbing sessions to groups of children. All camps are situated around the M25 so experience of driving in and around London would be a strong advantage. You will work strictly to a structured timetable and liase with the Operations Manager and the Camp Directors of each camp. Part of your role will also include other operational duties.

A Climbing qualification and/or experience are preferred but full training will be provided.

•Minimum age of 21 years

•Must hold full, clean UK driving license having passed their test before 1st Jan 1997 with Category C1+E on licence or 21years + with a trailer license to tow a 2 tonne trailer.

•Experience working with children preferred but not essential.

Salary: £300 per week
